Sometimes I read some of this stuff and I get that feeling in my stomach.....then again, it could just be last night's dinner.

Life As A House
I really liked this movie. I've always enjoyed Kevin Klein's movies and this one is no exception. I highly recommend this movie if you haven't seen it already.

Home Blog Archives December 2008 You Can't Have Your Cake and Eat It Too!

In this historic election that we just had, we have seen the high point of equality in America. Unfortunately, we have also seen a low point. Yes we have elected the first African-American to the highest office in our land, and yet on the same day, in the state of California, voters have decided to take away some rights for a group of individuals. I am talking about Proposition 8 which narrowly passed to ban same-sex marriages in California. This after they had been legal. I won't go into the whole ins and outs of the issues here, but Keith Oberman of MSNBC basically says it all here:

I showed that because I basically couldn't have said it any better. I have always believed that in this county, you can't have your cake and eat it too. Meaning, if you want to enjoy certain rights then you must be able to let others enjoy the same rights. I sincerely hope that in the not too distant future that we will move beyond this issue in this country and finally have equality for all and not just some. That is my hope at least.

Until next time...
