I'm Back

Well, I know. I haven't been around in a while. Truthfully, it's been very busy at work. We have been working on getting our company's website switch over to a new server and new software which involved long hours and many weeks of effort. The switchover was complete earlier this month and there have been some problems with the process. Things have finally calmed down enough that I feel that I now have a "life" back so I am hoping to be able to make more frequent updates to this blog.

As far as other things going on. My vehicle is finally on its last leg I think. It has been leaking coolant the last week or so and I got to take it in and have it looked at (hoping that it was just a hose or something simple) and I was told that it is leaking from the rear head gasket. Repair cost of about $2400.00. Ouch! As it is 12 years old and has some other problems, I just can't justify putting that kind of money in it, not that I really have that kind of money lying around anyway. So I guess I am going to have to get another vehicle soon.

Spring is almost here and the weather has been getting warmer. I made Corned Beef & Cabbage tonight for dinner in honor of St. Patrick's Day coming up. I'm not irish, but I do like the meal and I thought it came out great since it is the first time I made it entirely on my own. Usually I had Mom to rely on to tell me what to do. Not that there is any real special technique involved in the dish. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate the difficulty of the dish as a 1 because you really only need to know how to peal carrots and potatos and boil water.

The Amazing Race is back on television and I am a very devote viewer. It is one of two reality shows that I faithfully watch when it is on. The other one being Top Chef. I like the Amazing Race because I feel that it is a show where you are in control of your destiny. You don't get voted off because you are the better contestant and everyone else just wants to get rid of you.
